M.S.A.D. #53 Adult & Community Education Program Announces the Schedule of Classes and Programs for the Spring of 2010 The spring semester will begin the week of January 25th
Mondays - Classes Begin January 25th *World History: Instructor: Christopher Talbot, 5:00 to 8:00 PM, RM112, Fee: $50 Residents/ $65 Non Residents/ $25 Senior Citizens, 15 weeks. This class is for high school credit and is aligned with entry requirements at KVCC. GED Preparation See description below. Basketball Instructor: Dan Delano, 7:00 - 9:00 PM, Gym, Fee: $20 Residents / $25 Non-Residents / $10 Senior Citizens, 10 weeks.
Tuesdays - Classes Begin January 26th *English Grammar / Composition Instructor: Cheryl Lake, 5:00 – 8:00 PM, Room 112, Fee: $50 Residents / $65 Non-Residents / $25 Senior Citizens, 15 weeks. This class is for high school credit and aligned with entry requirements at KVCC.

GED Preparation Classes Individuals that have not earned a high school diploma in the traditional manner can earn the General Equivalence Degree (GED). Students will take a pretest to determine areas of strength and need in order to pass the GED Test. You may attend as frequently as your schedule allows to receive the necessary assistance to pass the examination. There are no fees for these classes. Mondays and Wednesdays, Room 119, 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Instructor: Paula Hammond. Starting Date: January 25, 2010.
C.N.A. Training At Sebasticook Valley Health Care Facility The M.S.A.D. #53 Adult & Community Education Program collaborates with the Sebasticook Valley Health Care Facility to provide a 10 week training program to license students as Certified Nursing Assistants. The program is limited to 10 applicants per class. The next class is scheduled to begin in February and is already full. Please contact Peggy Thompson, at 487-5145, if you are interested in further information or to get your name on the waiting list
Computer Class Computer 101: This course will focus on skills that everyone needs to have to have in today's world. We will look at a variety of topics from word processing to email etiquette. This course is for the novice to average user. Classes will meet on Tuesday and Thursday starting on March 2 and ending on March 11 from 5:30-8:00. Please contact Peggy Thompson, at 487-5145.
WorkReady Have you got three weeks to invest in yourself? If you have been looking for employment, the WorkReadyä program will teach you essential skills that employers want. WorkReadyä is an intensive, three week, no cost program that will help you develop a personal employment plan. In addition to job search skills, the program focuses on teamwork, communication skills, computer skills, and appropriate workplace behavior. Endorsed by local businesses, the WorkReadyä Credential will set you apart from the typical job seeker. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements. There are two programs slated for this area. One will be offered in Skowhegan from March 15th to April 2nd. A second program will be offered in Pittsfield starting April 12th and continuing until April 20th. Registration Information All classes are at Warsaw Middle School unless noted otherwise. Pay close attention to dates and times. Not all classes begin and end at the same time.
