Paula Hammond has background work experiences and qualities that have prepared her well for her current position in the district as an Education Technician in the Alternative Education program. These qualities include how she has a great way of raising the bar for the students with whom she works as she encourages them to reach their potential.  She is also skilled at modifying curriculum to meet individual student needs.

Paula Hammond brings rich experiences from her work in a group home that are very important when working with the young women in the Alternative Education program.  She has a special way of speaking with these young women and taking them under her wing.    This same trait comes in handy when she is working with young adults in the Adult Education GED program.

Her work ethic is described as punctual, dependable and trustworthy. She is a perfect model for respectful and hard working attitude.  It is truly her caring and deep commitment to providing students with whatever is necessary to encourage them to be successful that is her legacy.

Paula has worked with district students at the Manson Park School, Vickery School and at Warsaw for the Adult Ed. program.  Currently she works with some of the most challenging students in a program that she was instrumental in establishing as a substitute teacher.

When students have needs, Paula is there in whatever way that she can be to lend support and direction. She has continued her education by attending Alternative Education conferences and participating in several district professional development programs.

Each year when it comes to the Alternative Education graduation, Paula stands proud of the successes of her students.  She knows all too well the incredible struggles that each of her students has overcome to reach the point of receiving their MCI diploma.

Congratulations Paula Hammond for receiving the MSAD #53 Board of Education Support Staff Award!
