Adult Education



If you would be interested in conducting a class through the MSAD #53 Adult Ed program, we would love to hear from you.  If you wish to share a hobby/craft or a skill please contact Carol Anthony at 487-5107 or Suzanne Nowinski at 368-3290.  Examples of what we are looking for might be gardening, crafts, arts (drawing/painting), computer skills, health and fitness, social media, small business ideas or advice, and of course we are open to suggestions!

You MUST pre-pay for classes at least one week in advance to secure your registration. If we do not receive prepayment, there may still be room in the class, but we cannot guarantee all supplies will be available or even that the class will run if no one has registered in advance.















Locations:
Classes are offered at school throughout our districts. Locations are indicated on each class.  Once you are registered, we will inform you as tot he exact room of your class.

Holidays
Our Adult Education Programs are closed the following dates:  Jan 19 (Martin Luther King Day), Feb 16 (Presidents' Day), Feb. 16-20 (February Vacation), Apr. 20 (Patriots' Day), April 20-24 (April Vacation), May 25 (Memorial Day).  Exceptions to this policy are indicated.

Textbooks
If the class requires a textbook, one will be provided to you.

Book Deposits
A $25 book deposit is required for all textbooks loaned to students.  Upon the return of the book we will gladly refund the deposit.

Attendance Policy
Students in the diploma classes are expected to be present at ALL classes.  If you are unable to attend a class it is YOUR responsibility to contact the instructor and/or Adult Ed. Office. If you miss more than 2 classes, you may be required to withdraw from the course.  Credits are given based on the number of hours of class time as well as successful completion of class work.

Cancellations
If our district's students are released early due to a storm, Adult Education classes are automatically cancelled. If school is cancelled due to inclement weather, it will be announced on local television stations and websites, such as WABI-TV, 
www.wabi.tv 

Supplies
Unless otherwise stated, supplies and textbooks are not included in the course fee.  Supply lists will be provided the first night of class unless noted.  Supply fees are not eligible for discounts.
