Description: We value a passion for guiding students to read, write, speak, listen, and think effectively in a middle school setting. The teaching assignment for 22-23 is 8th grade E/LA, looping to 7th grade in 23-24 along with a professional learning community including math, science, and social studies colleagues. In addition to teaching responsibilities, staff members advise a CREW group daily and participate in assigned duties.

Compensation: The Collective Bargaining Agreement stipulates a starting salary of $40,000 with 0-2 years experience and a Bachelor’s degree.

Special Education Teacher

MSAD 53 – Warsaw Middle School, Pittsfield Maine

Qualifications: Certification as a Special Education Teacher (282)

MSAD 53 is seeking a special education teacher in our Warsaw Middle School to provide academic instruction and behavioral interventions to students with disabilities. The Special Education teacher is responsible for overseeing the delivery of services in students Individualized Education Plan and providing specialized instruction in ELA and Math to ensure that each student progresses in meeting IEP goals. The ability to relate positively to students, parents and staff is essential to this position.

Major Responsibilities:

-Provide evidence-based specially designed instruction to student with IEP’s to ensure that each student progresses in meeting their learning targets.

-Serve as case manager and oversee each student’s IEP, ensuring compliance with requirements in the Maine Unified Special Education Regulations – Chapter 101 including timelines related to the IEP process and IEP development

-Consult with regular education teachers on a regular basis regarding educational needs and accommodations

-Collaborate with related services providers (speech, OT, PT, social worker, etc.)

Grade 4 Classroom Teacher

Description: Vickery School (part of MSAD #53) is excited to have a fourth classroom teacher opening for next school year! We are looking for an energetic and dynamic educator to join our fourth grade team and become part of our school family at Vickery School. The successful candidate would join a group of educators committed to students and offer a high quality education in a positive environment.

The candidate will demonstrate knowledge in elementary literacy, math, science and social studies instruction. Strong classroom management and communication skills are essential.

Candidate must hold a valid teacher certification from the Maine Department of Education, and must be fingerprinted.

Elementary Music Teacher

Description: MSAD #53 is seeking a dynamic, energetic, and highly qualified music teacher for students in grades PreK-4.

The successful candidate will demonstrate best practices of general music instruction for elementary-aged students, which includes classroom management skills.

In addition, the successful candidate will embed creativity into instructional lessons, be an effective communicator, demonstrate necessary technology skills, and collaborate with a team of educators who put students first.

Applicants must hold or be eligible for conditional Maine State Teacher Certification in Music Education (614 endorsement).
