Grade 4 Teacher for the 2025-2026 School Year
Vickery School (part of MSAD #53 and the communities of Burnham, Detroit, and Pittsfield) is looking for a Grade 4 teacher for the 2025-26 school year! We are looking for a dynamic and energetic educator to join our fourth grade team and become part of our school family at Vickery School. The successful candidate would join a group of educators committed to students and offer a high quality education in a positive learning environment. The candidate will demonstrate knowledge in elementary literacy, math, science, and social studies instruction. Strong classroom management and communication skills are essential.
Candidate must hold valid teacher certification from Maine Department of Education and be fingerprinted through the Maine Department of Education.

Social Studies Teacher 5-8
Warsaw Middle School is looking for a dynamic, motivated, and creative individual to fill an open Social Studies teaching position. Warsaw Middle School is a 5-8 middle school that is part of MSAD 53, which serves the towns of Burnham, Detroit, and Pittsfield. Warsaw Middle School fosters the social, emotional, and academic growth of all students by adhering to middle school philosophy, promoting integrated units of study, utilizing a looping model, and having a strong advisory program. Warsaw is located in Pittsfield - the heart of Maine. This is a thriving and diverse community that boasts premier medical and manufacturing facilities as well as unique and quaint small businesses. Pittsfield is also home to Maine Central Institute as well as a variety of social and cultural organizations. Interested candidates should hold a Maine 200 Social Studies (6-12) certification. Special Education Ed Tech III
Vickery Elementary School

MSAD 53 is looking for an Ed Tech III who is caring, compassionate and patient to join the special education team at Vickery Elementary School to work with grades 1-4. Students in this program have a wide variety of academic, functional and behavioral needs. The successful candidate will closely collaborate with the special education teachers to support students in the regular and special education setting in both small groups and one to one to meet students' unique needs.
Fingerprints, background check and Ed Tech I certification through Maine Department of Education is required.
Grade 7/8 Resource Room Special Education Teacher

Looking for a candidate with strong organizational skills, the ability to be flexible, to multitask and to case manage students. Responsibilities include providing specially designed instruction in ELA and Math, managing and implementing IEPs, measuring and reporting on academic and functional progress, consulting with contracted providers, and reporting to parents.
Math Teacher 5-8
Warsaw Middle School is seeking a kind, compassionate, and motivated individual interested in teaching mathematics. Suitable candidates will be well versed in current mathematics pedagogy. Warsaw Middle School serves the towns of Burnham, Detroit, and Pittsfield. The MSAD 53 community is in close proximity to coastal Maine and a variety of other social and recreational opportunities. Special Education Teacher

Substitute school nurse
MSAD #53 is seeking substitute school nurses to provide medical treatment to students when the regular school nurse is absent.
Requirements: Must have a current RN license and a Maine Department of Education Criminal History Records Check (CHRC). Previous school nursing experience preferred but not required.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Manage school clinic visits, intervene with actual and potential health problems, and assist with decision-making
Manage and support chronic health conditions
Dispense and monitor physician ordered medications and/or treatments.
Manage and use equipment and supplies ordered by a health care provider for everyday or extended use in the school setting.
Provide and/or appropriately delegate health care procedures
Establish and maintain professional communication with all stakeholders which is ongoing, timely and respectful with consideration given to professional confidentiality
Maintain individual student health records adhering to documentation standards
Create a caring, trusting, personal climate conducive to learning
Possible physical demands include, but are not limited to: standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, bending and reaching outward.

Substitute Custodians
Do you want to impact a child's learning? We are in search of substitute custodians to care for the facilities. Work may include day cleaning throughout buildings and/or evening cleaning classrooms and other areas. Work times and days are flexible depending on candidate availability.
